So I just grabbed the new drivers for my 4850 and I'm seeing something odd in the Catalyst Control Panel. In the older hotfix drivers, when you went to the AntiAliasing section, there was a checkbox saying "use application preference" and a dropdown box, which had the filter options "box", "wide tent", "narrow tent", and "edge detect". So, I decided to play with edge detect a little bit, loaded up the new catalyst panel, and found a difference. That being, if you uncheck "app preference" it removes edge detect from the dropdown! Meaning, if you want to manually set the AA level, you no longer have the option of edge detect. Really Annoying.

Too bad you need a cray to run like that. I enabled that setting in crossfire thinking I was all billy badass and both my 4850's would eat that up and ended up getting like 10 fps in most games.

I actually use 4x EDAA in Oblivion and it works fine... Same fps as the 8xAA box filter, and looks much better.

Works fine witha single 4850 as I'm using 4xEDAA in CCC and playing CoD4 and GW beautifully.

My only issue and it's minor at best, is the constant pimping of the fact that I'm not running a 48xx card (I run a 3870)

The installer 4870! 4870!

CCC 4870! 4870!

I mean geez, I'd buy one if it was in the cards, but I've barely had this 6 months!

Do the new drivers have problems with the netflix watch instant viewer? I can't seem to get it working correctly on Vista x64 without getting a DRM error. Heard it was caused by the hotfix drivers.
