New Amd Drivers 8.96-120214a

I somehow doubt this will fix my powerplay issues. My gpu randomly drops down to 500 mhz thinking it's not rendering a game. Is there a fix for this other than a bios edit?

still has crossfire issues with the 7900 series so probably not eclypse. reading some of the stuff my guess is these are alpha drivers that weren't meant to be leaked and no where close to beta driver. but they seem to work very well with the single 7k series cards and also the 6k and 5k series.

actually these might, thismonsterlives because the drivers are missing the dll file that allows the cards to idle at all. but i've seen exactly what you are talking about but usually only happens on menu screens with my laptop. thought something was a bit off but once i started playing it clocked up fine and stayed there (HD5670).

Looked through guru3s's forum and i didnt see mention of a newer beta., just the same old 12.3 pre one from Feb 14th.

According to spyre who's a well known AMD beta tester, these aren't to be used with the 7900 series cards.

Still testing these out my 7970 gets about 300 more points (gpu not overall) in 3dmark 11 bout to test bf 3 will report back later.

just installed on my 7970.. AB still works. metro 2033 is all ive tested...

Does your card do that with any level of increase to the power control settings in the CCC?

I was getting your problem with a 7950. Increasing the power control settings in the CCC caused it to stay pegged @ 3d clocks when benching or gaming and not drop clock speed.

batman ac is running better for me. less random stuttering.....its noticeable in the benchmark also

Yeah that doesn't seem to make any difference for me. Annoying as hell.

These are definetly better for bf3 (not like earth shakingly better but still enough that I notice)

they do seem to have some issues in Diablo 3 (beta ofc) but turning on vsync fixes it (didn't need vsync before).

Hmm, well if you don't want to fuck with the BIOS on your card you could always try disabling ULPS from the registry.

That would probably squash all lower power states though.
