So I work at BestBuy and I was looking into the prices/availability for the new 4000 cards.
One sku I pulled up was described as 'HD All in Wonder PCIE Card, 512mb GDDR4'

Anyone have any ideas?

That would be a godsend for those who are looking to free PCI slots or want something new for their HTPC.

Sounds good. I might seriously consider it, if it has a good HDTV tuner and component-in for full HD capture. It would save me a slot.

So, what did you find out about 4000 series prices?

I've been waiting for the AIW to make a comeback, ever since it died on the 19xx series.

My AIW9600XT was a badass. I do hope they are CF-capable.

The ultimate would be a CF capable AIW. We could have great gaming and dual tuners for recording+watching or PIP.

Haha, I lost the piece of paper, but the 4870 was listed at $250, and the 4850 at 200 (if I remember right). These are Visiontek and at Bestbuy, keep in mind. I will go back in tomorrow and check again.

WHAT?!

If that's true, this is big news. The 4870 was rumored to be $299, but if over-priced BestBuy has it for $250, then online retailers or rebates might make it even cheaper. I might even be able to afford one.

It does seem odd to price the two new models so closely though. Maybe that was just a placeholder price. I hope not.

I'll wait for the sapphire single slot version of it, those visiontek ones seem to not cool very well.
