New 9800 Pro Problems

I just received a Hercules 9800 Pro and installed it at first without a reformat, wiping old nvidia drivers. I noticed vertical lines running through some of my desktop shortcuts, but if I select the icon they go away. Here and there on webpages and programs colors and images are distorted and garbled. Also when I move my mouse over any kind of word in a webpage or even right here while typing this, a small box with horizontal lines appears. Games seem to work fine so far.

I reformatted thinking that might help, and have the latest drivers for everything. I use an LCD with digital input but I have also tried analog and get the same results. I have an Antec 430 psu so it can't be a power issue. Any ideas? Thanks

Try the "Alternate DVI mode" in your ATI control panel options - could be as simple as that.... if that doesn't do the trick, I'd guess that you've got a bum card with that kind of image corruption. Have you tried running anything other than just the OS? Do games play with/out corruption? Keep us posted..... good luck

So far games like Halo, FarCry, GTA are working great. It just seems to be little things that are coming up weird. Like the icons in the quicklaunch bar or like the close button on internet explorer. Alternate DVI was selected already and didn't help turning it off. I'm still trying to mess around with it and figure it out.

Everything is working great now, all I did was turn off fastwrite and everything is perfect. I'm pretty excited after having a regular old Geforce3 for the past few years.
