New 74gig Raptor

Got myself a 74gig Raptor from Newegg. Can't anyone tell me if they come with cables. Second question, should I get a hd cooler for it. The drive will be setting in front of a few case fans blowing on it.

Did you get OEM or Retail? As far as cooling some get cooling, I just placed it lower in my case to stay cooler than the other HD's. OEM = NO cables and manual.

OEM does not come with cables, but newer motherboards usually have two SATA cables.

If you've got a fan blowing across it, it should be fine. I got a $15 cooler for mine at svc, but if you're not going to get one put it at the bottom of the case, under other hard drives.

Just place the HD in front of an intake fan and you will be okay.

Bay coolers/HD coolers are NOT as effective as a fan.

My 10,000 rpm raptor is 32C in the bay cooler.
My other two 7200 rpm drives are 38C and 37C, each placed behind a 120mm fan
