New 6800gt...questions

ok, so i just bought the gigabyte 6800gt with the heatpipes yada yada....anyway, when running hl2 at 1280x1024 with everything on high and 4xaa 8xaf it only runs around 60fps and occasionally drops to below 30....is this right? or is it running a lil slow. its beats the snot out of doom 3. also, it seems to be running a bit hot, last i checked it was at around 60c ambient. anyway, thanks in advance.

EDIT forgot to mention, im running it on a gigabyte mobo, with an amd 3000+, a gig of hyper-x and a 160gb sata drive. it seems like hl2 should be faster.
