Hi,
I recently swapped my 4200ti with a 5900nu. Everything seems to be working fine and the computer even seems to boot about 20 seconds faster. Well I went and played Age Of Empires II and I started noticing some lagging when there were a lot of people on the screen. I never had such a problem with the 4200ti. I reloaded the drivers even though I didn't think this should really matter since both use the same ones. It didn't help.
I'm not sure if maybe I messed up a setting in my BIOS so if someone has the time, could you take a look and see if I have things set up correctly? I have a 2600+ on an Asus A7N8X Dx with 1 gig of 3200 RAM. Running XP Pro.
My BIOS setting are:
FSB Spread Spectrum: 1.00%
AGP Spread Spectrum: Disabled
CPU Vcore Setting: Auto
Graphics Aperture Size: 128mb
AGP Frequency: Auto
System BISO Cacheable: Disabled
Video RAM Cacheable: Disabled
DDR Reference Voltage: 2.6v
AGP VDDQ Voltage: 1.5v
AGP 8X Support: Enabled
AGP Fast Write: Enabled
PCI/VGA Palette Snoop: Disabled
That's my BIOS. I don't overclock and I normally don't mess with settings. There is something not set right and hopefully it's easy to fix and one of the resident experts will point me in the right direction. The last thing I want to have to do is a format and clean reinstall. Setting up the SATA Raid drives drove me crazy and I don't want to have to go through all that crap again.
Thanks for any help!
Marty
