My friend has a HP M7760n. It a couple years old now. I gave him a working 600w power supply to upgrade his OEM PS from 300w. He went out and bought a new XFX 5770 card today to replace his 8600GTS that failed. The new card went in fine but we are not getting any video signal out of it. Fan on the video card turns on. An old ATI x300 works fine and so does the onboard. I have reseated the card and still no video. He has already taken the card back and exchanged it for another one. The second card does the same thing. Have I overlooked anything? Should this card work in this system?

I have this issue with a new MSI Radeon 5670. Refuses to work on my digital LCD with DVI but works if I put an adapter on my old analog NEC LCD with the old RGB connector.

If I boot with the blank monitor and let it sit it eventually comes on at 640x480 on the Win7 loading screen. I cant do anything to change the resolution, and now I uninstalled the new drivers to reinstall and now the drivers see it as a standard pnp videocard.

My ATI jinx continues.

Had to install Vista.....ughhh.....just to update the bios. Successfully upgraded the bios and reinstalled windows 7. Still a no go on the 5770. Reset the CMOS and still nothing....I guess he will just have to return the 5770 since its not compatible with his motherboard.... :-(

Thanks ATI!

are you connecting 2 power connectors to the card? the card has 1 6 pin connector on it, but you need to use the y splitter included with the card to connect 2 power leads.

There's two dvi ports on the back, I hope you tried hooking the monitor up to both DVI ports? Tried booting in safe mode and installing the drivers from there? Turning the monitor on/off after the pc had booted first to try to get the monitor and hard to do their HDCP hand-shaking over again?

You should try his 8600 and 5770 on your mobo.. that'd be interesting if his mobo isn't working with PCIe 2.0 cards suddenly..
