New 520 (240GB). Disk Management Shrinking?

I have a new Intel 240GB 520 showing up today and it's going to take over for a WD Velociraptor that was holding my C drive (Win7).

I'm looking at a few of options for migration:

1. Use the Intel Data Migration Tool from Acronis. This will require me (as I understand it) to shrinking my 279GB partition down to below the size of the SSD (there's just 104GB of data on it so that's no problem) and then migrate. If I go this route can I just use the Windows 7 Disk Management option to shrink the partition or is that option destructive? In other words I obviously don't want to lose the data on it.

2. Use another tool that can deal with the larger drive/smaller SSD issue on the fly. Not sure if there's one out there that's cheap/free and that also deals with tweaking the OS for the SSD setup as the Intel option claims to do. I've owned Acronis stuff in the past and would consider buying/upgrading if it handles all this. However, a quick search didn't tell me if it handles the larger/smaller scenario.

3. Wipe everything and re-install Win7 from scratch (least desired option from my perspective as I'd have to get everything re-installed and reconfigured).

Alignment could be an issue when cloning. The new Acronis should align it but doesn't always. Acronis will adjust partition size though so that's not an issue.

I just reinstalled on my ssd. Most of my programs were in another drive and didn't require reinstalls.
