New 5.1 set up question. (Logitech x-504)

Alright so i picked up a set of the Logitech x-540 5.1 speakers and im having a little problem with them.

I have everything set up and when i go into the realtek audio config. and test that each speaker is working, it seems to me that the center speaker and LFE (sub) seem to be on the same channel. When i test the center speaker, the test sound comes out of both the sub and center, and vis versa. (but ALL the other speakers are fine.)

Is anyone else having the same problem.... i contacted Logitech about the issue and one rep said that is by design the other tech said no.... and wants me to send it in...(go figure).

If it is by design then that is a BIG NO NO on Logitech parts, because the speakers are advertised as 5.1 and this is not 5.1 (more like quadraphonic with an extra channel) maybe.. i don't know im not a huge audio gyro so i don't know.

Any help/suggestions on the matter would be cool.

-Thanks!

try a 5.1 source like a DVD, make sure everything is in 5.1 output mode with your 5.1 soundtrack enabled, if there is something actually "wrong" (as in defective) with the speakers, you'll hear voices/center effects through the subwoofer (you might have to get right down next to it to hear), if you don't hear such noises, all is well
