I just received a 2407 and this is my first LCD at home, except for trying a HP W2207 for 3 days, and setting up a computer for someone with a Samsung 226BW.

First question is about the brightness. I profiled the monitor a few different ways using an Eye One 2. When I was setting the brightness I had to turn it down to zero and that was still too high. I wanted 120 or 130 and when the 2407 brightness setting was turned down to zero I still was at 168, or higher. I then opened the Nvidia desktop settings and tuned down the brightness there to get to the 120 setting. Is this normal with this monitor? Am I going about this correctly?

I am using Windows Vista and the Eye One 2 Logo Calibration Loader is in the startup folder and runs when Windows starts. Why is it when I look at the setting for brightness in the Nvidia control panel it is at the default of 50%, instead of the 37% or 40% I set it to when I made the profile. According to Windows Color Management I am using the Eye One profile I created. Is the Nvidia control panel doing anything once the profile is loaded when windows starts, or is the 37% brightness setting incorporated into the profile and set behind the scenes?

Thanks for any info. about this.
