I just opened my Dell 2405 after sitting there for over a week (had to go to Miami the day it came in). So far I'm pleased with it. Ran pixel tester and found no dead pixels. I play mostly BF2 and was wondering what resolution everyone is running. The games max res I guess is 1600x1200, right? Is there a work around this? Also my next question.......I sold my dual 7800gt's about 2 months ago as I was only really playing at 1024x768 on a 19" crt and I wasn't really using the power........I put $400 in my pocket and got a eVGA 6800GS CO......and its been a good card for the money but I have noticed a little slowdown in areas with a lot going on with this new monitor......should I 1.) buy another 6800gs or 2.) get a 7800gtx 512 or wait for the 7900? I kinda like eVGA's stuff.....I have had about 6 of their cards here lately.....just put a 6600gt in my wifes pc. Also had their 6800GT and Ultra in my AGP systems. Thanks

My system:

3700+ SD @2.5mhz
2 gig Corsair XMS
2 raptor's raid 0
eVGA 6800GS CO @ 525/1200
SB XFi
Dell 2405
Antec Neo Power 480 PS

I just picked up a 2405 also and I'm opting to wait for the 7900GTX its gonna be pricey but I believe it is my best bet right now. But thats also coming from someone that doesn't like ATI (thats why getting the x600XT out)

I would get teh 7800GTX 512MB now, teh 7900 is only going to have a faster core and memory (650mhzcore , well thats what I have read), and when teh 7900 do release you can get another 7800GTX 512mb for cheaper and go Sli of course.

Then you can run games on high settings with teh 2405 native resolution and still have good fps.

I run BF2 and BF2 SF with 1280x1024 (Max Monitor Resolution) ,Medium settings and 2xaa and I get smooth gameplay with my sig pc.

If I had a job I would have a X1900 Xfire setup on Dell's 3007 monitor :D .

Wont the 7900 also support directX 10? ;)

DX10 support? Has this been confirmed? Anyways, as of now, the X1900XTX 512Mb is the fastest single card out. Period.

I don't know guys.....after playing with the 2405 I have been a bit disappointed with it. In BF2 running @ 1600x1200 it looks great but there seems to be a bit of lag......Not sure how to explain it but it seems that my guy doesn't respond well to my actions. Is it me that needs to get use to the monitor or is this a common problem. I have no problem buying a new video card if it will correct my lag but for once in my life I found a game that I enjoy instead of running benches and got a midrange card that runs BF2 great! I have contacted Dell about returning it but I really love the size of this beauty. Thanks
