i bought a Benq 231W a few weeks ago, i have noticed that i have been getting more headaches since using the monitor. could it be possible? before this i was using my dell 8600 15.4" UWXGA (1920x1200) screen with no problems. if anything, i thought this would help since i find myself in front of the computer for such extended periods of time. thoughts?

One of the suggestions I have seen in this regard is proximity of you to the screen. With a monitor that large, make sure you are not up close and personal. And the brightness level, as well as the lighting. Do you use it in low-light conditions? Hope this helps somewhat ...

Are you running it at it's native resolution. Put the moniter further back....

Hi. Had a very similar problem when I got my 23inch Sony. What helped were:

a) dim it - it was super bright, and i went with a middle of the road setting
b) raised my seat height. I read somewhere that my eyes should line up with the top of the monitor
c) lowered resolution to 1280*960. I fixed the aspect ratio, so have black bars on the side. From time to time (and of course for gaming) I change it back to native or go full screen.

After this, no more headaches . . .

Good luck,
Brad

Well, I have had an Hp 2331, which has the same panel from LG. I've already returned it 2 times and now asked for a refund. The problem was almost the same. Big headaches!!! But i know that the monitor got some problems. I use Painter 9 and Photoshop, and I can clearly see it moving and flashing. I also nothiced some strange black point moving on the screen (can see them clearly in the start bar on Xp). The brightness was very low, and got almost no lighting, but my Sony X83B was completely different.

It has a lot of other problems like some pinkish lines going from every palette in photoshop from left to right. The problem seems to dimish when connected in analog, but they're still there...
