At least you're folding. Many got caught in the current economy and had to scale back or quit out right.

Don't sell yourself short. You are helping and do fold for team 33. :)
 
Congrats ROC, being 1st in the [H]orde is [H]ard.

I'm aiming to get 2nd place back by Xmas.

Thats if lassiterb doesn't get there first with his ramp.

na vijay did a good enough job of that... any points im still getting are from machines that idiot users left off at night... the only thing more difficult than installing 1600 copies of FAH via ghost is uninstalling 1600 copies of FAH via ghost

im glad ROC took over my #1 spot, and I'm even happier that I quit FAH, and therefore no longer had a reason to stay at my job... the only reason I kept working for Miami-Dade County Public Schools was because of FAH... when the CPU client was deemed worthless I decided it was time to move on... now I have a much better job with a much better group of people (Reality Kings - I KNOW you know what we do) and am much happier managing 80~ computers instead of 800~

I still DC tho... my personal farm is running WCG, not at full production yet, but soon will have all the machines up and running
 
you gotta put one GPU or something back on 33, just for old time's sake, but ya, I could only imagine (ok, so I couldnt really) 1600 uninstalls lol

Na, it's all relative. Someone was #1 before you, someone will be #1 after ROC. I've come to appreciate the effort of some and not really where things end up because it's all fucked the end anyways! :D
 
Honestly FLECOM's acheivement is still tops in my opinion. He did all of that folding on P4's....

If you ever get bored with just doing WCG in BOINC AND want to feel like an underdog again, the [H] Commandos would be happy to have you hang out with us! :D After all, you STILL are the [H]ardest folder evah to many around here...

So am I assuming I *shouldn't* google reality kings at work to see where you work now? :eek: j/k...

Agreed. Things have changed so dramatically in the last year, folding is a totally different DC project as to be nearly unrecognizable.

that would be a bad idea lol

i dont run the GPU clent after it got complicated... same with the SMP... the linux netboot was awsome i was booting a few hundred machines off of one server for a few months to "stress test" them lol

Although I agree that the SMP client can be a real pain in the behind at times, the GPU client is actually very simple ever since it became available in a console version. It is virtually the same as the classic CPU client. It requires one or two additional steps if you have multiple GPUs on one machine, but other than that it's a breeze.

I'd look into it. Sooner or later the last few machines still folding for you will eventually stop. Having a few nVidia cards folding will keep you moving at a steady pace not to mention contributing to the science.
 
Hey guys

I've waited agessssssssss for this day.I won't be leaving the team any time soon. I think my farm will still be in shape to produce good points for a few months. I should be staying till ~100 million points or so.

I am not concerned about the points, and I am still contributing to science, just through WCG instead of FAH

It's tough to get there even with an all GPU farm. I don't even want to think how hard it would have been to do it with CPU folding like FLECOM did it. Congrats to both 1 and 2, ROC and FLECOM. They are both number 1 in my book. :cool:
