What do you guys think? I still play the first NWN and love it. Yall think the new one will offer anything new or appealing?

I plan to buy, but I sincerely hope they hire some better artists for the next go-'round. The games obviously have substance, but it'd be worth their while to substantially improve the visual appeal. Oblivion has shown that selling out to appease thirteen year-old console gamers can be a very lucrative move indeed.

From the SS's i've seen this game looks to rival oblivion. I'm betting not as pretty, but close.

I have my copy on pre-order from gamestop, can't wait!

I've already preorded the LE version, hoping it's as fun as the original. The toolkit is delayed until Oct. 1 and the game itself doesn't come out till Oct. 31.

Can't wait.

I loved NWN 1, so I'm buying NWN 2 for sure.

I have been watching screen shots come out since it was announced, and I can't wait. The toolset alone is supposed to be vastly improved, and considering all the functionality in the first (and all the modding potential) this will hopefully be a long-term single-player game. Not to mention any multiplayer PW options... I hope this one will last me til Age of Conan comes out. :)

I keep hearing about this game but I know nothing of it. What is the biggest draw? I read that you can host your own server and you are the GM or something?

Well, it's a sequel to the original NWN.

Here's a description of the original:

Here's it's list of awards:

And here's a list of it's reviews and scores:

And here's the "About" for NWN2:

Now. Do your homework! :D

Ok. Well, the original game basically got tons of awards and excellent reviews and sold like hotcakes.

Yeah, you could host games online (up to 64 people at once if your machine could handle it) and be the DM. You could either play original campaign or other user created modules or you could create your own original story.

Basically, it kicks a whole lot of butt and I'm very much looking forward to the sequel. :)

i would like to raise the point that NWN2 is being developed by Obsidian not Bioware, and from past experience (ex: KOTOR2), will most likely attempt to outdo the original, but in the end fall flat on its face due to unfinished quests, or bugs.

I'm hoping thats not the case, although I will buy nwn2 anyways just because I need something new to play.

That's why NWN2 has unlimited content so to speak. Custom stuff will far out do anything the dev company will ever make.

QFT!

Speaking of which has anybody been able to download the new toolset yet? I heard its 2GB....

I'll toss my hat in the ring for this game... it's going to rock the caz-bah.

I've worked on a few PW's over the years. I am a big NwN Fan, infact I am playing online as I type this.

I know a lot of beta testers, and they can't tell me too much due to their NDA, they have confirmed that the new toolset is way... way superior to the old one. Its like a completely new toolset. You can customize almost anything.

As far as graphics go.. I don't know what happend. The first screens I saw were absolutely ugly, but all of the recent screens have been stunning - some of them even rival Oblivion.

I seriously can't wait. Its one of the games that will hold me over till wii/zelda gets released in Nov, maybe even past that. (ok.. well i've put hundreds of hours into PW's in the original and even helped develop one, which unfourtantly will finally be finished around the time NWN2 releases)

Just beat the original NWN campaign two nights ago (I'm a longtime D & D fan, but didn't pick up the game till the Diamond Edition came out). Finished with a 16th Level Paladin.

This was one of the best campaigns I have ever played, and I can't wait till the sequel comes out.
