Just went to Office Depot today to pick up some printer paper, saw this game, which is weird because I was reading the review of it this morning. Seems like a popular RPG, and I like RPG's, but not sure if it's actually any good. Anyone played it?

I've not played it myself but the only complaints I heard about it were along the lines of slightly buggy, (which might very well be fixed at this point,) and a system hog. for $17 though I might swing by OD and pick up a copy for myself.

Just a warning, this is a Mexican OD :D I have no idea what the price is in the US. I have a feeling it might be cheap because it's in English and no one wants to play it here LOL.

It's actually $169 pesos.....

I thought it was a good deal though, it's on sale on Direct2Drive for $29.95

depends.

If you come in expecting anything like NWN, modability, toolset, etc... you're going to be very dissapointed.

As a single player RPG, it's ok. It's got a lot of things that grinds my gears, but for $20, not bad.

I just wouldn't expect NWN level of user made content. I can make a whole module in the aurora toolset in the time it takes me to make a room for NWN2.

I think the single player campaign provided me about 25 hours of enjoyment. I was going to play it through again with a mage character, but quit after the first 2 hours. I'd say it's worth it for $17.

I paid 50 dollars for it and I think it was worth it... This was the very minute it came out on direct to drive.

Plus in the far future once the modders figure out the toolset, it will most likely have a bit more replayability imho. Good deal for that price i think.

My brother and I played the heck out of the 1st NWN. We got the 2nd on release day and never finished it. We played a few hours in and got bored. It was much slower paced and just dull. It was also very buggy which was the final nails on the coffin.

That's what I was worried about. Worst part is that I never even played the original, heh... oh well. Well I actually have a bunch of other games I want to play before, including the WHOLE gothic series, and Far Cry.... should keep me busy for a couple months, since I don't have a ton of time to play games anyways....

For $17 dollars it definitely worth it. I paid $54 for mine and couldn't be happier. Just make sure you patch up to latest version and checkout nwvault for mods that bring the rules up to PnP rules.

It is absolutely worth it for $17. Patch up to the latest version (1.06 currently) and you're good to go. The expansion comes out later this year and there will be at least one more patch before then.

Yeah, if you like a decent single player RPG, it's worth it. Just be sure to patch it... pre-patch it is buggy as fuck. And it's a system hog. But the SP, while not great, was decent.

i paid $50 for it the day it came out also, and enjoyed it quite a bit. definitely worth picking it up for so cheap.

Well that's like 8 votes for... and I was really tempted to buy it today. haha dangit, I shouldn't have asked, now I want to go buy it :p
