A BS in Computer Science would also help you out in that goal. As would Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. But if I went to all that trouble, I'd be shooting for something along the lines of Senior Consulting Engineer, or something like that. Sales is where the money is, if thats what you're looking for.

In todays market, pretty much any IT related position that has "Senior" in the title is gonna require about 10 years experience.

Well I am a Network Administrator and my degree had nothing to do with my job. I have a degree in Sports Physiology from UF. I started by working on friends machines, then went and got my MCSE in NT and 2000, then threw in the A+ test for the hell of it. Started at Level 1 National Help Desk for T-Mobile for a year. Then I moved back to my home town and started looking for IT jobs in here in Gainesville.
Now I'm the Network Administrator for a Credit Union with 10 locations. It's a fun job, and I consider myself lucky to be picked. I didn't know the most, but I had the right attitude. Now I'm learning how to keep a Domain up and running on the fly. It's a lot of fun.
Get EXPERIENCE. The degree shows you have the ABILITY to learn, while experience shows you can actually DO what you were taught.
Good luck.
Spaces damn it, spaces. The spelling isn't the bad part, just needs more damn spaces between sentences, etc.Originally posted by JARofHERB
