Well, i have 3 comps.

2 comps connect to a router that connects to a cable modem.

1 comp connects to another comp which connects to a router which connects to a cable modem.

for ex.

comp1 connects to the router

comp2 connects to the router

comp3 connects to comp1 which connects to the router.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Internet connections work fine on all three.

comp1 and comp2 can share things fine with each other.

The problem is that comp3 can only share files with comp1 and not comp2.
and comp2 can only share files with comp1 one and not comp3.

any ideas?

Comp 3 is only directly communicating with Comp 1, that suggests you have a routing problem. Try adding the route manually and see what happens.

is it giving you an "acess denied" error? If it can ping the other computer but not shre files, it is a permissions thing.

That's kind of a weird situation where one computer is ICSing for a second computer, but you still have a router. Sounds like you don't want to lay a second line of cable in your home? :) you could always grab a cheap hub/switch in order to split the line. ;)

Wish I could help you more, but I don't think I ever had a need to share files over an ICS box. Make sure any firewalls you have on it are turned off for testing.
