Networking assistance please - Windows 8.1 laptop cannot access W7 Server

Ok got a new laptop it has Windows 8.1 everything is working fine except I cannot access my server. Every machine in the house is Windows 7 and can see the server just fine and access everything. All sharing networking protocols are correct and have been for years.

This new laptop gives me an error when trying to access the server. It sees it just fine but when I click on it says the server is denying access.

Not sure how or why this is happening.


NEVERMIND - problem seems to have resolved itself. Sorry for the post

Which is fine unless you ever want to plug in a "non approved" OS. That list includes Win XP, Linux, MacOS, etc. Talk about a "walled garden." Sheesh.
