Network switch recommendation

Hi,
I have been using this gs105 switch from netgear, which is fine usually but turns out to be a piece of junk when I play my ps3 online. I get disconnect once every so often. it doesn't happen all that often, but enough to make me getting a new switch and never buy another netgear consumer grade switch again, ever. I don't know what it is about ps3 online that gives the switch problems. When it happens, i have to power cycle it to get back online. Sometimes it will happen consecutively. 2 disconnect within 5 min. I would say this happens every month, and I don't play games often.

Can anyone recommend one good switch for ps3 gaming and of course my network. Preferably un-managed, but fine if it's a managed one.

Thanks in advance.

Assuming you've done the proper troubleshooting of wires/ports/devices/etc. for this issue, and despite your abhorrence to Netgear.... I'm going to still suggest the ProSafe series from Netgear. I've used their 8 and 16 port switches without issue, and with simultaneous PS3, 360, and PC gaming.

The one I have is the 5 port proSafe series. The switch is the only possible problem. Wires are fine, the reason why I know it's the switch is because when I get disconnected, everything connected to the switch is disconnected, however the network is still fine from devices not connected to the switch, that is, from other computers connected the the main router. The only way to bring the connected devices back is to power cycle the switch. I don't know if it's just this particular device being defective, that's why I am looking for a new one. Just a bit hesitant in buying another netgear switch if it were to have the same problems.

I would check for firmware updates for the switch. If the firmware is up to date, I would consider getting netgear support on the phone.
