as the title says it happens with the local connection, wireless and 1394, if you try to view the properties it just appears blank(no tcp/ip, qos protocols etc) and freezes/not responding. system has no virii or spyware and it does it in normal and safe mode. i have tried reinstalling the devices, updating drivers, ran winsockxpfix.exe nothing helps. the local(wired connection) does work and i can get online but the availible wireless network icon is missing. if i disconnect the wired connection i dont get the cable unplugged message/icon on the taskbar. the only thing that i can think of that i havent tried is running a repair install as i dont have the xp media center cd for the system(toshiba laptop), it was left in kuwait when the customer came home on vacation(he works there). anyone have any ideas?
