I was having a strange problem accessing the net last night and today. I had severe cinternet connection problems and also could not access my router page. if i connect 1 computer directly to the modem i get online no problem. but going through the router and looking at another computer contents over the lan was extremely sporadic. i was thinking it's either the router or the patch cord going from the router to the modem. Here's where it gets weird. I moved the patch cord and saw that it was crimped at one section, like if you have a water hose and crimp it so no water can get through. I made the cable straight from end to end and so far i have no problems. you guys think i have a damaged cable?

I'm kinda confused with your post so lemme just say that you most definetely should not bend network cable in square 90 degree angle...

90 degrees should be fine. I have my whole house wired with 90 degree curves, not a problem. But since you say it's sporadic and already going good since you straightened it out, that cable might've been the culprit. It might've been interference or pretty much not great quality on the cable wire's part.

Oh and, why is this in the "General Hardware" section? Go to the network section.
