Network OCE Plotter Problem

I have recently implemented VLAN's at our work and have all printers configured on its own VLAN. The printers were assigned new IP addresses from a new scope. I have assigned the OCE plotter/controller an IP address which is pingable. The problem is that the plotter drops offline after one print job to the plotter. If I go in and configure the port and change the protocol from LPR to RAW, apply the changes, then go back and switch from RAW to LPR this brings the plotter online and I can send one print job but then it will drop offline again. Does anyone have any ideas what might be going on here?
