Hi guys. So I have multiple computers in my house. I have my Desktop PC (the one I'm typing on) that runs Vista and XP, my Macbook Pro which runs Leopard and Vista, my dads pc running XP, and my dads work Mac, which runs a version of OS X and OS 9. My dad runs both for his business and he likes to use OS 9 with certain programs. So we need a new networked external hard drive with more capacity. He has a Buffalo LinkStation with 160gb that works with Mac OS 9 (its an older Buffalo Linkstation). Heres my question are there any network external hard drives (NAS) that are able to save files from Mac OS 9, either by using software, or a drag and drop method, that will also work with all the other operating systems? Size capacity should be between 500gb and 1 terabyte. I really need the help guys. Thanks!

I'm not sure if Samba will work, but AFP will. Since Apple's Time Capsule (oddly enough) isn't compatible, you might want to take a look at Synology's DS107e or DS207.

If you are looking for a NAS box, check here.

He has great reviews and a great charts section. I found the info very helpful when I bought my new NAS box a few months ago.

If the existing Linkstation is working ok, you could always just get a bigger drive and stuff it in there.
