I took in a friend's computer to fix a couple of issues they were having and I noticed something weird that they didn't mention. After booting and selecting a profile, windows hangs for a minute or two before the windows security center icon pops up for a split second saying no firewall is on, and then it goes away.
After this, the local area connection icon shows up and connects and everything is fine. I checked in security center and the windows firewall is enabled so there is no reason for it to think it is off, even for a second or two.
Up until the local area connection icon shows up you cannot get any programs to open on the comp.
I've done scans with all the reg tools. Ex. antivirus, malwarebytes, ccleaner and i haven't gotten anything out of the ordinary.
This is windows 32bit, pentium d 2.8, and a gig of ram for some quick specs.
Any ideas?
