network connection problem

I work from 2 domains/networks. 1 at work and 1 at home. I use a laptop that runs XP pro.
I logon at work to that domain but I don't logon to the domain at home I just use the network for internet.
So heres my problem:
When I use the onboard NIC at work I can't get a connected anymore. I also use wireless at work and when use that I can connect.
When I'm at home and I use the onboard nic it works fine but I don't change domains.

Any thoughts?

Why can't you get log on with the NIC? Is there any error message? Can it find the domain?
 
Well that is kinda of my question.

I can logon on to the laptop because XP cache's the password. so I get no error message. The nic is enabled. I go to the cmd line and type ipconfig /all and I get a IP and all the rest of the right info but I think that's cached. I /renew and it can't reach DHCP server to renew. If I /release and then /renew I keep getting the same IP address which tells me I getting the cache IP address not a new one. The nic sends out packets but doesn't receive any. I can't ping the server.
 
Also, when I run cmd ipconfig /all the onboard nic as no MAC address it's all 0000's but my wireless card MAC address is fine and it works fine.
