Hey Guys,

I was recently given a nas as a gift and would like to add one more to my network. The one i was given only supports FAT32. Is there a NAS solution that supports files larger than 4 gigs? I can' seem to find a product that supports NTFS so i'm not clear on what the options are.

i saw this on newegg:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822165028
it's supposed to run the drives in xfs.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Does it actually enforce the 4gb limit though?

I seem to remember at one point being able to exceed that size limit in XP. I think a certain update or patch broke (fixed) that though.

FWIW: If your getting rid of that NAS, what is it and how much would you want for it?

I use a QNAP TS-201 and it runs embedded Linux, and uses the Linux File Structure.

I don't recall having any issues with large files.

the drive gives me an error when i tranfer a file larger than 4GB. Does the XFS file system have the same problem?

I wouldn't want to sell the NAS i got, it was a gift from my bro.

tia.

I have the Infrant NV+. It doesn't seem to have any problems with large files. However this one cost a bit more than the one you are considering.
