I have a Netgear WGR614 router running my cable internet connection. How do I find the proper MTU to set the router to? I am having problems with slow vpn connections and AIM and Yahoo losing connection and having to restart the app to reconnect to them. All PCs on my 3 pc network are having the same issue. Also, I had a linksys router that did the same thing so it must be something with the mtu or the cable modem.

Are you getting this problem with any of your comps hooked directly to the modem?
It's rare that you should have to fiddle with anything to make a router work other than sometimes having to open up specific ports.
