Netgear WG311v2 stupidity and issues

first of all:

Notice that channel 1 AP has over twice the signal of channel 11. Notice the netgear drivers decided to connect to channel 11 instead. Note that no matter how many times I tell it to connect to channel 1, it only stays on 1 for a few seconds before going back to 11.

Any suggestions?

Make sure your settings aren't telling it to go to CH 11, make sure they're on any, or better yet, make your setting only connect to the CH1 WAP.
