netgear third party firmware???

i have an extra netgear WRG614v6 wireless router and wondering if theres any third party firmware for this router. since i dont think netgear has put out a new firmware since last year

You could check out www.dd-wrt.com as they have probably the most supported devices. I personally recommend DD-WRT to most people for most any access points. It's generally much more stable than even the factory firmware.

Search their forums. They have a ton of info. Also search their wiki and see if there is anything. Without having done that particular model (each model of access point has a little different procedure to flash it) I can't safely tell you how to do it. If I were to guess (this is a GUESS ) I would say you need to download and flash with the .chk file first, then flash with the proper .bin file.

My guess would be you would have to do a TFTP install.

There must be some howtos somewhere
