I just got an N600 router and setup the basics.. It's a dual band router, but when I look for a wifi signal it only shows the 2.4ghz... how do I get it to display the 5ghz? I'm just wondering... It looks like there is so much this router can do. I'm a complete networking noob. :-/

Do you have a dual band adapter? If not, you won't see or be able to use the 5Ghz network.

If you do have a dual band adapter, go into the router and find out what the SSID of the 5Ghz network is. There should be instructions that came with the router to get you into the setting as well as making sure the network is on and what the SSID is. Also, it's possible that both bands have the same SSID, thus you are not seeing two networks. In this situation you card will pick the most appropriate one. Again, you'd have to go into the settings to check. Generally this is done by connecting to the router and typing in its address which is usually 192.168.1.1 out of the box.

daemonmf!

Thanks. I do not have a dual band adapter... and both SSID's are in fact the same. :) Guess I kinda overkilled it for now with the router.
