Recently got a Netgear N600 WNDR3400 router. It works fine, aside from that fact that servers either have - or 999 for a ping.

I have not had this issue with my older Linksys router. What do I have to do to set up this Netgear?

And anyone get BFBC2 to work properly on this router?

Try enabling UPnP and see if that helps.

Also have you noticed any other issues with other programs or just BC2?

Do you have any QoS setup on the router?

For QoS, there is a an option to "turn on" QoS, and I clicked in the box. Same issue still.

UPnP was enabled to.

As for other programs, I have not noticed any issues as of yet. Just seems to be BFBC2.

I'm not even sure how QoS would help with BC2.

Client ports are:

Port: 80 TCP
Port: 18121 TCP
Port: 18126 TCP
Port: 18126 UDP
Port: 13505 TCP

However server ports could be any combination of port ranges.

Since the servers arent hosted by your and me (only certified hosters by EA) the ports could be anything.

Its not like say a Counter Strike Source server that almost certainly (with exceptions) runs on UDP27015. You can easily setup a QoS rule for that.

But there is almost no way to determine what port a server is using in BC2. Perhaps you could find a couple servers that you will regularly play on and prioritize those ports if you can find out what they are and set up QoS to those. But if you're just opening up the server browser and looking for a game to hop into QoS with BC2 will not work.

I use this router.. And do not suffer this problem in BC2.

So I should try and forward these ports? I will look into it later today.

Good to know. Out of curiosity, does it work well for other games?

Have not run into any issues in any games yet.
