"The leak was first reported internationally, as fans spotted clips of unfinished footage on social media, "One of our post-production partners has been compromised and footage from several of our titles has unfortunately leaked online," a Netflix spokesperson said in a statement exclusively to TheWrap Thursday night. "Our team is aggressively taking action to have it taken down.""

Anutha day, Yet ANUTHA data breach.....y/A/w/N......

Exactly when are these multi-million/billion dollar corporations going to start taking data security seriously ?

It's not like this problem is suddenly going to just go away after all, so it's time to get real people, W.T.F....... !

Yea yea, I know it cost money to do correctly, but still, how much can it be as opposed to how much they can/will lose after getting hacked/slacked/jacked every which way ?

The post-production (in africa-asia-eastern europe, etc...) vfx house can be quite the small affair and should we take anime footage that seriously ?

how many of those were employee wanting to show it to their friends that end up on the web ? Not that it is impossible to stop, but quite difficult.

This a bit like when people were stealing screeners of Oscar movies in the mail of voters to put it online, an issue, but not a big deal either.

Not sure the post-production VFX that leaked here would be in that category, some are quite small affair.

Do you think the giant company listed do not take cybersecurity, trade secret and their data in general seriously ?

Not likey, since most companies do not take any of that seriously, until they get compromised, and even then, they do not always take it serious.

Nor governments with trillions in actual liquidity,

"A director of C4ISR programs, he was found guilty of spying for the People's Republic of China. A resident of Alexandria, Virginia, he sold classified defense ..."

Regular company, when you run AWS-Azure-Github-Google cloud, you tend to have people paid full time just thinking about it.

How can a company try to spend 23 billions on cybersecurity:
https://www.reuters.com/markets/dea...rsecurity-startup-wiz-wsj-reports-2024-07-14/
Google parent Alphabet (GOOGL.O), opens new tab is in advanced talks to acquire cybersecurity startup Wiz for roughly $23 billion

And not take it seriously, it is a major risk for the cloud with clients that care a lot about it, cloud has been their growing revenues shinning stars.

Just look at Microsoft and Azure... they claim they care about security and look at all the holes in Azure over the past years.....

Microsoft bought Cloundknox for 500 millions dollars, they made Microsoft sentinel, the idea that the proof that MIcrosoft and Azure does not care about security is the existence of security hole does not seem logical at all, it exist an other option, it is extremelly hard to have none when your system as a large surface( there a limit of how complicated you can make it for your customer programs to access their data via the Internet and must make it available via the internet).

Azure business model depend on having good security, their giant clients will just on shore back onsite everything otherwise, it is critical for their future revenues, thus something they care about and is shown by giant investment going into it.

Most of those just like the Amazon ones have been poorly secured customer containers.
If I build something and host it on Azure and leave a crapload of database data there unsecured and open containing user or customer data. The media doesn’t call me out, they call out Azure because nobody knows who I am and nobody cares, but “Azure Data breach, 200,000 users impacted” gets click and rage-bait user interactions.

"Lastly, Netflix has recently added live sports into its platform, which might call for higher prices."

Can we please stop making it so people who do not give a shit about sports have to keep subsidizing sports leagues? The model REALLY needs ot change to you just buy an annual subscription to stream the team you like.

We can’t allow people to watch their local teams on TV, so therefore we MUST make everyone else who is less likely to be interested in the team pay for it. 😂
