Guys,
i am from mumbai....And looking for a Netbook or a Laptop with a Decent Battery Life above 10 hrs...

It will be used for Web Browsing ,Downloading and Very light Gaming (not a Graphic Demanding Game, can run smoothly on GMA 3500,But looking for ION)

My Budget is $800..

Shall i Go for a Laptop or Netbook? I need a Good Battery Life...

But if a Laptop with a GPU and Good CPU , RAM can have 10+ battery life i would consider it
Thanks

I'd avoid a netbook if gaming is of any concern, the Atom just struggles too much with it.

I'd personally look into a Core / intel HD. I can easily play L4D2 on my X201 (i5 540m + Intel HD) at 1280x800. Finding one with the battery life you're looking for in that price range may be difficult though.

If you can find them, CULV 11.6" laptops like the Acer AS1810T were able to give me 12 hours of battery life when coupled with an SSD; 15 was the max I pulled with the lid closed, 10 with a standard 5400rpm hdd.

Budget can be Extended , but i need is Superb Battery Life...While Gaming / Downloading

an Asus UL50VT sounds like a good fit, <$800

the problem with netbooks is that the Atom sucks.
I swapped an Acer Aspire One AOA150 of my wife's out for an IBM T41, and the T41 was faster. The Atom at 1.6Ghz runs like a PIII at 1GHz.

Just look for LV or ULV laptops and you should be on the right path.

+1

My Wife's IBM T40 with a Pentium M 1.7ghz easily out paces my N280 powered netbook. In fact, I have a Dell D430 with a Core 2 Solo 1.06ghz and even that is noticeably faster than my netbook.

LOL. Its only funny because its true. But serious netbooks are awful. I have tried browsing the internet on them before and it is next to impossible with such a small screen. But you can up and down the Asus line as well as your budget fits. If you could spring another $100 for the Asus U30JC-A1 you get a new i3 processor which should help a little bit on the battery, plus that laptop should do some decent gaming. Here's a review.

If not another +1 for the Asus UL50VT.

I rarely use my desktop anymore. For some people, Atom processors are more than powerful enough.

Oke....I have heard that MSI Wind U115 gives 25 hours while UL50VT gives 12 hours or anyother laptop giving more than 12[recommend]
