nested quotes?

when did nested quotes become allowed?
Or is it just genmay?
 
As near as I can tell, nested quotes are not a feature of vBulletin. When you quote someone who has already quoted someone else, you only get the most recent post as a quote. In order to "nest" multiple quotes, you would need to do it manually. Not that hard to do... I regularly type url and formatting tags manually anyway. ;)

Except in PMs, when you "reply", then they reply, etc., you can end up with a boatload of nested quotes.
 
I do manual entry of tags all the time as well.

But I've seen at least 2 posts today with nested quotes...

I manually nest them, not hard at all...

Would be nice as an option, though.

The problem is that if it were automatic, posts could get extremely lengthy with tons of repeated quotes and one would have to wade through it all to get to the poster's addition.

Oh, on by default, it DOES get nasty fast. :)

A "quote all" button as well as "quote" could work.
