I have an extra PCIe connector for the Neopower, wondered if I could just use it and not get one of those overpriced "SLI ready" power supplies. Thanks.

Well by the numbers it should work. I had to guess since you were light on details but it looks like about a 26 amp 12v draw, a 18amp 5v draw, and a 3 amp 3.3v draw worst case scenario. This can be affected of course by what those other bits are.

As a note some people have had issues with running 6800U SLI from the things I have seen in other parts of the forum but I haven't heard a lot of complaints. 6800GT has been a go.

Supposedly the 7800 draws less power than the 6800 series, so I'm good ya?

Yes supposedly less than some of the 6800 series but I don't have the numbers on hand so I use the 6800U as a worst worst case scenario.
