Bad news. I got the power supply, and hooked it all up. It powered my computer fine for a few hours, and when I came back from errands, my computer was powered down. Now when I try to turn my computer on, all I get is a little squeak noise from my speakers, and the blue cold cathodes in it flicker for a second. The led light on the motherboard lights up. My comp works fine with the old power supply, but the neopower won't power up anymore. I even tried using a power supply tester to run the power supply without the computer, and it still refused to power on. Any ideas? I see in my manual that it has many different ways to protect itself from electricity problems. It mentions in the manual:

3.0 PROTECTION:
If the power supply is latched into shutdown stage due to protection circuit
activity, the power supply shall return to normal operation only after the fault has been removed and reset PS-ON for a minimum of 1 second. Then it will
turn on again.

How do I do this, and do you think that it will get the power supply up and running again?

Any ideas?

A friend of mine owns a computer hardware shop in Finland and he has had to stop importing Antec PSU's.
He says that they are incredibly poor quality and has had over 50% of his sales returned due to defects and blowouts.
I have had one Antec PSU blow up in my face so I won't touch them with a long stick.
Hopefully you can RMA it and get a working model.

I noticed antec's quality control has recently been lacking...

Who understand this forum section where most users die for those antec power supplies :(

I have an ANTEC Neo Power hope it lasts me a while *Knock on wood*

Typically you'd only have to turn the PSU off (there should be an on/off switch) and then back on and it should power up. Assuming you removed the fault that caused it to switch off, which in itself is assuming you have a fault.

Contact our customer support folks, since that's what they're paid for, customersupport@antec.com

Called up, and guy told me to just RMA. I guess I'll have to use the old Vantec Stealth 470w for a few weeks until the great neopower returns.

I tried that. What a ghetto solution for such an expensive PSU IMHO.

i got a new antec neo from the egg, plugged it in and it was DOA. pissed me off, they sent me a refurb, appeared it has been pried open but it worked. i sent it back, i boought a new one and they give me a refurbed with the housing pried. so i finally get a new one and its worked very well since, however, its sold and i'm now getting a pcp&c.

If something “faults” on your PP&C you will have to do exactly the same thing to reset it.

Where do you get “Ghetto solution” for what’s been a common standard fix like forever?

I just bought one and I'm hoping that it lasts a while. At least it has a two year warranty.

The PSU comes with the power switch off. I tried what was suggested from common sence. It didn't work, I don't see how doing that would help. Anyways, excuse my stupid remark, I find myself doing that all the time. I'm just disappointed that I spend 130$ on a psu and got 2 bad ones.

My neopower came DOA too had to RMA it and my 2nd one is perfectly fine, been running it for 3 weeks no problems...

Been running the Neopower in my box for about 6 months here never a problem the machine is on 24/7. Just seems like some bad luck for you guys.

ENERMAX!

i had an Antec TruePower550 stop powering my machine correctly in two weeks.

Antec has went downhill.

I will only buy Enermax, OCZ, FORTRON or PC P&C.
