NeoOffice v. Office 2004 ?

I've been using NeoOffice to do homework on for the past 2 weeks or so. The performance is a bit slow even with 512 MB of Ram on my 12" G4 iBook. Has anyone or any website done any performance comparisons between the two pieces of software? I've been checking out ThinkFree but they haven't released their Mac version yet (supposedly will be this month). I am contemplating throwing in the towel and getting Office 2004 if it will perform better than NeoOffice.

Any help??

IMO Office is the way to go ... you can download a demo from microsoft to try it for yourself. It sold me on it.

I was using Appleworks to do reports for my classes (im a history major in college, LOTS of reports)

Appleworks is not so hot, so i switched to Openoffice.org, that was clunky too.

Get MS office like everyone else is saying, there is definatly no competition.

Like everyone suggested get Office 2004, but when you purchase it save $50. Because I see at the Apple Store Online (www.apple.com) you can get a rebate for the student and teacher version of Office with a $50 rebate you can print off. I know that's what I'll be doing in the next couple of weeks here when I purchase an iBook. S think about it.

You can't beat the price of Open/NeoOffice. Buy more RAM instead.

Just cause it's free doesn't mean its good or worth using. And in this case open/neooffice are free for a reason, nobody would pay for them.

If you go to a university you can get it for $5 or so.

Yep count me as another vote for office got it last week and it is great.

Oh and anyone wonder why MS can't make outlook more like entourage? Outlook sucks in comparison.
