That's a good idea and it came out really well! Seems like it would be a good alternative to UV-reactive dyes or tubing too.

thanks. i like the way it came out. i didnt wanna use uv reactive but wanted my lines to glow. i think its better because you can do all kinds of interesting stuff like flashing, chasing, fading etc

this is a pic with the lines in. im still working on wiring so i cant post a working pic yet

About how many (inches|feet)^2 did you use to wrap those tubes? I could figure it out with math (+/- a few inches), but if you have the number it'd save me the trouble. lol

I'm sorry, I'm not understanding the question so I'll just try and explain what I did. I used 3/8 x 1/2 tubing cut it to length then took el - tape and cut it so it was 1/16" above the top of the monsoon chain gun fitting (I used these so the wires had a place to exit) I then stapled through the eltape and bent up half the staple closest to the end of the tube. Next I used sata sleeving and covered everything leaving one end about an inch and a half too long, I the took 1/2" clear heat shrink cut it so it would fit under the connector (1/8") and shrunk it this is to hold the eltape and keep it from cutting the sleeving. Next I slid the top of the connector over the sleeving and screwed it down. Then I put the anti kink coil on and smoothed it as far to the completed end as I could (be sure to bend away the end of the coil or it will rip the sleeving) once this is done I used the anti kink coil to work all the slack out of the sleeving and sort of "for" the shape of the line. When I get the coil almost to the end I heat shrink the end again and trim the excess. Now just tighten the final connector. Once this is all done I used a very long fine solder tip to hit the bent up ends of my staples to make the wire connections..... it was very interesting to try and make this work I'm sure there's an easier and better way so if you find it please share ; D

Thanks for the explanation. The tape comes in 3/4", 1", 1.5", width, right? About how much of that tape do you think you used to wrap the tubing? Did you wrap it around the tube (like electrical tape), or did you get wide (~1.5") tape and cut it to length, then wrap the width of the tape around the tube?

Basically, I'd like to get an idea of how much I would need to do this, so I can get a dollar figure.

My first thought was to spiral wrap it like electrical tape but it's too rigid for that so I used 3/4 and trimmed one side so it would run the length of the tube that's why if u look closely at the pic only half the line glows but it glows very well so if you plan your tubing and put the tape on the side that's mostly seen it look good

i also am playing with el wire and 1/8 sleeving if your interested

Sorry I still didn't answer your question lol..... u need as much tape as you do tubing. If u have 3 feet of tubing u want to glow that's how much tape u need ( your gonna burn up alot of tape trying to "learn" just like the first time u used acrylic tubing) also u need a transformer for the tape I'm using a sequencer so I can get everything chasing fading etc. Amazon has cheap transformers that blink or steady burn.
