Neither my windows 7 pc nor older vista pc can enter sleep mode, any ideas?

Any ideas?

I uninstalled all taskbar apps on the windows vista one but it just wakes immediately. I also unplugged the mouse.

I had hoped to use it as a pvr but it's been problem after crash after problem, I think it's time to just buy a standalone pvr.

You can check the Event Viewer to find out what's waking your system.

Windows Media Center works great in Windows 7 as a PVR, not sure about Vista.

Thanks it turned out to be the remote ir receiver for the vista computer, although the sleep mode with that computer still leaves the cpu fan on and makes a fair amount on noise.


I fixed the windows 7 pc by disabling hybrid sleep ( I think hybrid sleep wears out ssds anyway, so I guess the ssd tweaker probably stopped it happening which would have been good for my ssd).
