So it has been a long day coming, but I am in need of a multifunctional printer. An early sorry if this is in the wrong posting.
I currently have an HP 4100 mfp and it is ginormous. It has the following
Scanner
Fax
Printer - B/W only
e-mail (sends directly from printer. Also kept an address book in it)
Copier
Networked
The problem is that e-mail no longer works because of the port it uses is hard coded and cannot be changed. It also does only B/W, but overall it has been a very good mfp. But now I need to replace it with something along the same lines and I want something that is e-mail capable with adjusting ports if necessary.
I played with a friend of mines who has an HP Inkjet 8500 and that seemed up my ally (you can program the ports for e-mail) except it is an inkjet. I want to stay with Laserjet. It had an address book and can e-mail straight from the printer to whoever he wants to go to; none of this scan to computer then e-mail. My printer (when it use to work) e-mail via PDF as well. Are there any suggestions on something along the lines (or bit better) than my current one?
Been checking printer review and they seem to be all over the map so any help would be greatly appreciated. Uses is for business and 2-4 people will be using it to print or e-mailing. Faxing is on done, but not as much as e-mailing. Thanks [H] crew!
