i live in canada, and i have this shop near my home:

i am looking for a 1000-1100$ laptop, and i found this one:

what do you think of the brand "Gateway", is it good?
the price listed is in CDN $ approximately it is 1050$US
do i go for this laptop?

Looks like a good general laptop. It starts off with 512mb of RAM which is important. You should get decent battery life out of it and wireless, b/c of the Centrino bundle. Gateway has been around for quite sometime. If you feel that's what you want then buy it.
