I'm gonna buy one of these depending on the feedback I get, my old 17" has been shitting all over me for a while and I'm pissed.

Monitor 1

Monitor 2

I see that the second more expensive one has 'D-sub x2' connectors. What is that? It's a $40 difference so if it's a good thing I'll get it. If it's something I'll never use, then, well I won't, and save the $40.

Is it a dual input? Dsub, if I'm not mistaken, is the type of connector you see on a standard VGA monitor. 15 pins or so, isn't it?

Anyway, the x2 may indicate two of them on the monitor. My LCD has this feature, with a SELECT button on the front to flip between inputs.

Yes, it has two inputs. I see now what they're for, I've never heard of D-sub before though. It looks like USB ports on the front, are they?

Nice response.

D-sub is the output connectors (the 15-pin VGA cables. Both of the monitors are the SAME, which means they both have the SAME features, the only difference is the name on the front of each).

Both have 2 D-sub connector ports, which means you could hook one up to two computers.

You're welcome and have a nice day.

The reason for the price difference is namebrand. You're paying for the Mitsubishi name, but both monitors are the same, they use the same tube, have the same specs, same features.

I have an NEC Multisync FP912, which is the same as the Mitsubishi DP930.

Check out necmitsubishi.com to check it out. Yes, the same company puts out the monitors.

He was just trying to help you.
The fact is that you seem to think those two monitors are different, but in fact those two are the same monitor with the same features - but with different brand name slapped on it.

For some reason NEC Mitsubishi seem to release the same type of monitors but with different name applied to it. In my opinion I think that's a waste, but that's just me.

D-SUB is the same interface you're using with your 17" crt.

Hey Carp, whats with the "Step off" this aint the hood.

Lucky to get response at all with that Tude! I was help you but not after reading you response to billleelee.

Be nice its to easy too be an D@#k

Dude, check out the links I posted they say they're the same brand name, NEC/MITSU. I wanted to know if the $40 difference is necessary/good idea. It's not, one is NEC and the other is Mitsubishi, it's like a combined brand name thing. If I'm wrong I'll put a bullet in my head after this weekend.

The price difference is not necessary, but they do it anyway (since a lot of people don't realize that they are jointly produce the monitors, and people associate Mitsubishi with higher quality, since it's more well-known thanks to their cars and televisions).

Go NEC, why pay more for the exact same?

Gotcha. I'll save the $40, not like it is a huge deal, and be extremely happy with my new monitor. Thanks Billy, sorry we got off on the wrong foot. :D

Yeah, let's forget those posts. Have fun with the new monitor, it's gonna be a freaking monster. :)
