Hello everyone, I purchased a Dell U3415W monitor a week ago and for the death of me I cannot get my Display port to work on it after I reboot my computer it will load the bios screen but never into windows. I can only get it to load into Windows via HDMI. Now once I get it going I can switch to Display Port just fine. This has got me completely confused, I have the latest drivers for both the Gtx 970 and the monitor installed.

1. What is the difference in running this monitor off of Display Port vs HDMI?

2. Any way I can fix this for it to work on DP?

I am mostly watching movies and gaming. Thanks everyone

Make sure there is only 1 cable connected?
Plug in a tv and your monitor for dual screen and see what happens?

Tried connecting it Via HDMI, tried connecting it via display port. Tried on my old Gtx 770, tried with the latest drivers, for both driver and graphics card. After I shut down the computer the monitor will not boot past the bios screen with either HDMI or display port even though it's being recognized under device manager and everything. I've literally tried everything and I cannot get it to boot up now the I've restarted the pc. The only way to get it to boot is to do a system restore through bios. Then it may or may not work (it's like 20, 30% success ratio). I've spoke to Dell, and nobody can figure it out!! Weirdest part is if the pc is on and in windows and I switch to display port or HDMI it works on the fly perfectly! It will not work after windows reboot though!

The card I have is Evga Gtx 970.
