I am trying to install Win2k on an old Compaq and having a big headache.

For whatever reasone my CD won't boot with the disk.
I have no floppy, my plan is to make a Win 2K boot CD and place it in the 2nd CD drive and then boot with cd support.

Will that work?

If so, where can I get the files I need to place on the 2K boot cd? bootdisk.com have the exe files but they write to the floopy directly, where can I get the raw files?

cd boots just fine.
The drive boots.

But for some reason they won't boot when I try to do a fresh install in this computer.

cd boot is enabled in the bios

if there is no hope of booting from the cd, there is a guide somewhere on how to make boot floppies but that would be a royal pain, it takes like 4 or 5 floppies (i don't have a link, you'll have to google)

Personally never tried it, but others have recommended it before:

problem is, there isn't a flopypy.

I managed to get XP Pro on it, although I don't see me doing anything else to it for a while.

The 2nd IDE is shot and it won't install an os byitself. I had to install it on one box then move it back.

once it dies I may try to pass it off for cheap.

sorry, i think i read that there was no floppy initially, reread the thread forgetting i already looked at it and didn't see the no floppy bit the 2nd time.
