So today I got the bright idea to remove my heatsink and clean it. I'm not sure what kind of thermal grease was used on it but it was like superglue. I took off the heatsink, but also managed to take off the processor, which is still stuck to the heatsink as I'm typing this. The pins on the CPU is not damaged as far as I can tell, but I can't think of a good way to remove it from the heatsink. So now I got a proc essentially "glued" to a big heatsink, any ideas on a good way to unbind the processor from the heatsink?

that happens a lot
don't worry, get a hair drier and start blowing hot air on the heatsink, once it's hot you will be able to remove the cpu with no trouble :)

warm up the TIM by gently heating everything with a hair dryer on low heat until you can remove the cpu

thanks! Trying it right now. be right back with the results.

edit: got it out. thanks guys.
