Howdy all.....i'm looking into doing a cheap upgrade for my gaming rig and was just looking for some suggestions.

right now i have an old amd x2 4200 and was wondering what would be a good replacement cpu and motherboard that would give me the best performance boost.

i'm trying to keep it in the $100-$150 price range if possible. (cpu & mobo)

for now i'm going to use my current case, ram, and video card.

i've been so far out of the loop and really don't know where to start. i started to look on newegg but wasn't sure what would be my best bang for buck because there have been so many processors released since i built my last rig.

thanks for any help/suggestions.
