Well it seems I have really fell behind in the gaming community lately. Funny how starting a family will do that to ya
So, yesterday I received the COD: Ghosts game and after installing, updating, and patching I received a nice DirectX error when attempting to start the game. It didn't take long to figure out the error was generated by insufficient hardware. As it turns out my video cards are waaaay overdue for replacement. I swear it seems like just yesterday that I spent a ton of money on getting a nice SLI setup
My current system specs are below and let me say that my first requirement is price. This is an unexpected expense so I'm looking for the best bang for the buck. Second is I'd like to go to a single card instead of SLI or crossfire if I can find one that is better/cheaper than getting two of a lesser model for more net gain in the end. I don't really have any sort of preference of AMD vs Nvidia or anything like that.
Intel I7 920 at stock speeds
12gb of ram
Nvidia GTX 275 x2 SLI
Motherboard has two x16 PCIe slots
PSU is either a 750 or 850 (can't recall) but its a nicer one so I'm not concerned really about power requirements for a good value-priced card(s).
Well [H]brethren - let me know what you think I should get.
