I currently have an AMD Radeon 6850 Hd video card and last night everything worked perfectly. Went to turn on the machine this morning and I got the normal motherboard splash screen and then nothing, blank screens. So I am assuming something happened to my video card from last night to this morning. I run three monitors and am going to switch out my video card with my wife's Radeon 7800 series (forgot which one exactly) to make sure that my video card is the one that broke. Might even try putting mine in hers to see if the same problem happens on her machine.

If I do have to replace my video card which would be the best upgrade for me. I have not kept up to date at all with video cards lately and am at a loss. This machine is used for gaming and work stuff (using AutoCAD).

I would appreciate any help you could provide and am looking at video cards for around $200 bucks.

try the "bake your video card" trick to see if that will bring it back to life otherwise that asus 7850 isn't a bad deal.
 
Little update, my wife's video card worked just fine in my machine and my card did not work in hers so it was the video card. I am planning on ordering a new one today.

I also forgot to mention I need a Mini-display port on the card as that is the current active converter I have plugged into one of my monitors.

His, XFX, Visiontek, Diamon, MSI and Gigabyte all use mini display ports and come with the 3 games when bought from Newegg.
