Need to upgrade my computer for cheap!

hi guys.......well im starting to do a lot of custom 3d animation / graphics / flash work and my current computer is becoming a huge bottleneck.....takes forever to render/import/export and i have to keep the quality on low or else my comp freezes..

neways......i need a cost effective solution to upgrade three parts...
1) Motherboard
2) Proccesor
2) Ram

i want to go the intel route and want to spend about $500 - $600 in total...

so if you guys could give me some reccomendations as to whats good and so on i would be really greatful.....(if the price could be lower......even better)

btw: my current system specs-
Mobo: Abit VP6
Proc: 2 X 750MHz p3's
geforce 4 ti-4200
768 mb ram
80 gig hdd
and so on.....

It's slightly over your allotted price range, but this beast will certainly handle ANYTHING that you can throw at it...except for perhaps an iron horseshoe.

Trust me, you won't go wrong with this. You can cut a few corners, but it would depend on more of your preferences and pre-existing hardware to use, such as a NIC.

this board is a great alternative and you can enable PAT which is a feature found only in the 875 chipset

well.....i need the parts really fast....like in a day or two so online shopping is out of the question.......im going to a local comp shop which i have bought everything from....they unfourtunatley dont have abit anymore so this is the list i put toghether:

(these are canadian prices btw since im in canada)

I had a shitload of problems with the p4p800 and prescotts, beware

Ai7 is a much better choice IMO

and because the p4 supports dual channel you will want 2x256 as opposed to 1x512

hum....ok.....well what other mobo's do you suggest.....the place where i am going to get this stuff doesnt carry abit anymore....

they have the following brands: Asus, ASRock, ECS, Gigabyte, Intel and Microstar (MSI)

so out of those manufactures....what do u suggest getting?

then get the asus board with a 3.0C? or do they not carry the C procs anymore?

the northwood would run cooler, and the 24 stage pipeline of the northwood performs better clock for clock than the 36 stage of the prescott.

if those numbers are wrong, correct me, but it hink its right...
